Terrifying Encounters: The Haunting Journey in the Mysterious Taxi

This story took place in 2002. There was a woman named Asti who had just returned from a big city to work as a domestic helper. It was a Thursday, she took a bus during the day and arrived at the terminal in her hometown just before dusk (approaching night).

The terminal was crowded, and some people seemed to be in a hurry. Asti patiently looked for a taxi. Strangely, that night she suddenly couldn't find many taxis. 

Suddenly, someone tapped her shoulder. She saw an old man with a tattered shirt behind her.

"Taxi, miss?" the old man asked.

Asti, who was initially suspicious, suddenly felt relieved. "Yes, sir. Are you a taxi driver?"

The old man nodded. He led Asti towards an old blue sedan. The taxi company's name was displayed on the back. Well, although it was a bit uncomfortable, the taxi didn't use a meter. It could be more cost-effective.

To make a long story short, Asti got into the car, and her belongings were neatly stored in the trunk. During the long journey back to her village, Asti felt drowsy. 

Her eyes were heavy. Moreover, the old man never said a word. The silence made her want to doze off.

Eventually, Asti's consciousness started to fade away. She fell into a deep sleep.

She didn't know how long she had been asleep when suddenly a terrifying incident occurred. The taxi driver was nowhere to be seen in the car. It was pitch black outside. 

Strangely, the car kept moving even though the driver's seat was empty. The car moved on its own, very slowly. It was even slower than a person walking. 

The sound of "creak... creak..." could be heard from the rusty body of the old sedan as it moved along the rocky road.

"Helpppp...!!!" Asti screamed hysterically. In a panic, she opened the door and jumped out, landing on the side of the road.

That's when she saw the taxi driver struggling to push his car, saying,

"I'm sorry, miss... The car broke down!"
