Si Kabayan Disguised as a Hajj

One morning Si Kabayan felt his stomach was hungry, but he was bored with his wife's Iteung food.

Si Kabayan wants to eat well. Since he hadn't eaten well in a long time, he was worried that he might forget what it was like to taste delicious food.

Then, came his crazy inspiration to enjoy delicious food at his father-in-law's house.

In the village where he lives, a Hajj is considered a very honorable person, because besides being considered a pious person, a Hajj is also considered a rich person who can pay the fare of a maritime ship to the holy land to worship the five pillars of Islam.

Si Kabayan knew very well that his father-in-law had great respect for a pilgrim. If a hajj comes to his father-in-law's house, his father-in-law will serve delicious food to entertain his guest of honor.

Without wasting any more time, Si Kabayan immediately put on a robe and turban on his head, then with steps like a pilgrim, he headed to his father-in-law's house.

After knocking on the door and saying hello, the door to his father-in-law's house opened. Turns out it was his father-in-law who opened the door.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. Haji, come on in. Oops, it's a big heart for Mr. Haji to come to visit our humble hut."

Then he ordered his wife to quickly prepare delicious dishes to entertain this distinguished guest.

Si Kabayan's eyes lit up when he saw his mother-in-law prepare chicken meat and other delicious foods.

Si Kabayan voraciously ate whatever was on his father-in-law's dining table. After his stomach was full, Si Kabayan immediately said goodbye to go home.

Back at home with a full stomach Si Kabayan quickly hid his robe and turban.

Meanwhile, her father-in-law felt that there was something strange about his guest. He didn't know Mr. Haji whom he had just served. And his father-in-law felt very familiar with the movements of his guest. Finally his father-in-law realized that Si Kabayan had tricked him by disguised as a pilgrim.

Revenge

Feeling angry and irritated by his son-in-law's behavior, he wants revenge. The next day, he disguised himself as a pilgrim too.

Wearing a robe and a turban on his head he walked towards Si Kabayan's house.

After greeting and knocking on the door, Si Kabayan then opened the door. Si Kabayan's eyes widened when he recognized his father-in-law's snub nose and toothless teeth. He also has good sense to prank his in-laws.

"Iteung! Iteung! This is a great guest, Mr. Haji who is still your family. We must respect him. Quickly cook good food. Cut the goat!" Si Kabayan shouted to his wife.

"Oh, how is my husband? We don't have goats,” said Nyi Iteung.

"Hush! Don't shout like that, Iteung. Later it sound heared by the neighbors are making a disgrace. Let's just slaughter your father's goat tied to the guava tree behind our house!" said Si Kabayan.

Hearing that Si Kabayan was about to slaughter his goat, the fake hajj immediately shouted, "No, Iteung! No! That's my only goat."

"Eh...so this is father? Why disguise yourself as a hajj?” shouted Nyi Iteung.

Without answering, Si Kabayan's father-in-law immediately came out and ran back to his house.

He was very upset with his son-in-law's behavior and vowed that one day he would retaliate.
