Meeting Ghost During the Daylight, True Scary Story

The following true story was actually experienced by somene, let's call him Arifin (not his real name).

The man who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts ITB (Indonesia) had not returned to his village in Cirebon city for a long time.

Since graduating from college and being accepted to work in a leading garment company in Bandung city, he rarely comes home.

This is understandable considering his position as a design manager is super busy, making it difficult for him to find free time for vacation.

One day Arifin got a leave from his office. He used the opportunity to go home to his hometown in Cirebon.

The man who once held the title of painting champion when he was still in high school came home by driving his office inventory car.

When he arrived in the city of Cirebon, his car passed in front of the house of Mr. Dirman, his former teacher and high school principal. Coincidentally, his former teacher was in his front yard.

Arifin immediately slowed down his vehicle, then opened his car window. They then met face to face, and a friendly smile appeared on the lips of the former teacher. Arifin then stopped the vehicle for a moment.

" Assalamu'alaikum ..... How are you, sir? ” said Arifin from inside his car.

“ Wa'alaikum Salam .... good news Rif. Stop by first, Father already misses you," he answered spontaneously.

" I'm sorry sir, I want to play at the house of relatives and friends first, when I get home I will definitely stop by here. Come on, sir, I'll excuse myself first....," said Arifin kindly, while stepping on the acceleration pedal in his car again.

Then Arifin visited several houses of his old relatives and friends. After staying in touch, Arifin intends to fulfill his promise to visit Mr. Dirman's house, his former high school principal.

When he got there, he saw a fat man who was half a century old, whose hair was almost all gray, still standing under a mango tree, in the middle of his yard, his eyes staring blankly at the road.

Arifin immediately parked his car right in front of Pak Dirman's fence. The former teacher seemed happy to see Arifin's arrival. The old man immediately came to Arifin with a little limp.

"Alhamdulillah, finally you want to stop by at my house, Rif ... ," said Mr. Dirman, extending his hand to invite Arifin to shake hands.

How surprised Arifin was when his hand touched the old man's hand. Suddenly his hand felt very cold, as if hit by a lump of ice. To the extent that Arifin's body shivered a little like someone with a fever.

Surprisingly, there was an unpleasant smell coming from the body of the former teacher. It tasted like a very strong smell of dead rats. He was forced to hold his breath a little in order to protect Mr. Dirman's feelings.

"Sorry sir, how come this house is so quiet. Where is your family?" asked Arifin.

"My family is not here Rif, they have their own busy lives. I'm alone at home. Oh ... yes, I still has the painting you gave me. The painting is still inside. Let's go to house," replied the old man.

The former high school principal walked ahead of Arifin with his body slightly bent and his right leg a little loose, so that his path seemed to be limping.

Strangely, the old man turned to the side of the house, not entering through the front door. Arifin immediately followed him while holding his nose to hold back the smell that pierced his nose.

They then entered through the unlocked side door. The man showed him a painting on the wall of the living room, Arifin's creation, which he had given as a memento of his high school graduation. There are also several family photos and various statues that decorate the room.

Mister Dirman invited Arifin to sit down, then he just went upstairs. For a while Arifin was left alone in the room alone. The atmosphere was a bit strange, quiet and the incoming breeze was very cold. The stench still stings the nose.

While waiting for Mr. Dirman, Arifin just stood looking at some of the paintings and photos on the walls of the house.

Half an hour had passed, but there was no sign that Pak Dirman would come downstairs. Arifin began to get restless and an uncomfortable feeling began to haunt his feelings, but he tried to get rid of it by thinking positively.

The ITB alumni's defense finally began to waver, because the occupants of the house had not appeared for a long time. Then Arifin took the initiative to try to get up the courage to call Mr. Dirman.

"Sir Diirmaaan! ... Sir Dirmaaan ! Sorry, I can't stay here for long, I want to go home," Arifin shouted, looking up at the top floor.

Several times he shouted quite loudly, but his efforts were in vain, there was no answer at all from upstairs. Of course this made him even more confused. Finally Arifin decided to just go home.

The strange thing happened again, when Arifin was about to step out of the house, suddenly his body was blown by the wind so that the hairs on his neck stood up.

His body suddenly could not move, as if stiff. In this helpless condition, he remembered his late father's advice to always make remembrance and recite the holy Qur'an wherever he was, especially if he was in trouble.

Arifin began to silently recite some of the holy verses of the Qur'an that he had memorized. Miraculously, suddenly his body felt light and he began to move normally as usual. He quickly left the house to his car, then stepped on the gas back to Bandung city.

Since this strange incident, Arifin's mind has always been reminded of Mr. Dirman. He couldn't understand why his former teacher didn't show up at that time. He was confused and still wondering in his heart, what exactly happened?

A month later Arifin had the opportunity to return to Cirebon. This time he tried to visit one of the former high school chemistry teachers, namely Mister Anwar.

There he told the incident that happened to him and asked why his former high school principal behaved like that.

Of course his former chemistry teacher was shocked. Then Mister Anwar explained to Arifin that Mister Dirman had actually died a long time ago, about 3 years ago due to liver disease. For several years Mister Dirman suffered from the disease until he finally died.

Arifin's body shivered again remembering the incident a month ago, when he stopped by Mr. Dirman's house.

Now he just realized that the man who smelled bad that he met at the house of his former high school principal was actually a ghost

After returning from his former chemistry teacher's house, Arifin immediately made a pilgrimage to Mister Dirman's grave to pray for his soul to be well received by Allah SWT.
